The programme’s applied approach ensures that these tools are used effectively in management scenarios across a wide range of institutions where data-driven insights are essential. Graduates of the MCD will be equipped to apply advanced data analysis techniques and tools to enhance management practices and support informed decision-making in both the public and private sectors.
Its research areas include Applied Econometric Modelling; Machine Learning for Public Management; and Macroeconomics and Economic Development.
A. Applicants must hold a professional degree and/or a bachelor's degree of at least eight semesters, awarded by a recognised national or international university, in the fields of Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Public and/or Private Administration, Political Science, or other areas that provide equivalent or related training. Professionals from other fields must demonstrate a work history that includes experience in evidence-based decision-making and must have completed a degree programme of no fewer than eight semesters.
B. Applicants must have prior knowledge of economics, mathematics, and statistics. This will be assessed based on the applicant’s undergraduate coursework. Specifically, the expected academic background includes:
i. Economics: Equivalent to an introductory course in economics, covering basic principles of microeconomics and macroeconomics.
ii. Mathematics: Linear algebra and calculus (at a minimum, linear algebra, derivatives, and integrals).
iii. Statistics: Descriptive and inferential statistics (at a minimum, probability distributions, central limit theorem, hypothesis testing, and confidence intervals).
C. As part of the programme materials (such as international journal articles) will be in English, applicants must provide certification demonstrating sufficient reading comprehension in English. If no such certification is available, the applicant's average grades in undergraduate English courses will be considered, provided that the most advanced course passed includes reading comprehension as part of its curriculum. A minimum average grade of 5.0 (on the Chilean 7-point scale) across completed English courses will be required.
Non-cumulative tuition discounts:
A discount of CLP $1,980,000 off the total programme fee is available to former undergraduate or postgraduate students from universities that are members of the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH).
A discount of CLP $2,380,000 off the total programme fee is available to former undergraduate or postgraduate students from Universidad de Santiago de Chile (USACH).
A discount of CLP $2,680,000 off the total programme fee is available to former students who completed the degree in Business Engineering with a major in Business Administration at USACH.
A discount of CLP $3,780,000 off the total programme fee is available to former students who completed the degree in Business Engineering with a major in Economics at USACH.
A discount of CLP $2,880,000 off the total programme fee is available to former students who completed the degree in Public Administration at USACH.
A 50% discount off the total programme fee is available to graduates of the Master’s in Financial Economics (MEF) at USACH.
A 30% discount off the total programme fee is available to those who have completed the Diploma in Data Science at USACH.
A 30% discount off the total programme fee is available to graduates of the Guillermo Subercaseaux Institute of Banking Studies.
A 5% discount off the total programme fee is available for applications submitted by 28 February 2025.
A 50% discount off the total programme fee is available to USACH staff.
A 20% discount off the total programme fee is available to those who achieved a graduation grade point average equal to or greater than 6.5 during their undergraduate studies at USACH.
*The Master’s Programme Committee will assess the compatibility of this discount with other tuition benefits.
A 10% discount off the total programme fee is available to those who achieved a graduation grade point average equal to or greater than 6.0 during their undergraduate studies at USACH.

A 5% discount off the total programme fee is available to those who pay 100% of the tuition fee in a single payment.
A 2.5% discount off the total programme fee is available to those who pay 50% of the tuition fee in a single payment.

Todas las postulaciones son gestionadas a través de la Vicerrectoría de Postgrado, que recepciona las postulaciones y las deriva a cada Facultad.
Es importante proporcionar todos los datos y copias escaneadas de la documentación requerida obligatoriamente en el fomulario de postulación online, además de la información específica que requiere cada Programa (ej: certificado de ranking, cartas de recomendación, carta de motivación, etc.)
Cada programa tiene requisitos de ingreso. Para hacer la postulación es necesario revisar los requisitos de ingreso del programa y aportar los documentos que son requeridos de forma obligatoria para la postulación.
Los documentos originales, o copias debidamente legalizadas deben enviarse una vez aceptada la postulación, para iniciar el trámite de formalización de ingreso de alumno regular.
Nos encontramos en el límite de la Comuna de Santiago y la comuna de Estación Central, a pasos del metro Estación Central y de la estación de ferrocarril y buses interubanos.
