Programme details
The Master's in Economic Sciences offered by the Faculty of Administration and Economics (FAE) is an academic programme aimed at training students with a solid and rigorous theoretical foundation, as well as advanced analytical tools that enable a deeper understanding of the economic world. The programme aspires to prepare graduates to compete with those from the country’s leading universities and to meet the human resource demands of both academia and society at large.

Its research areas include Applied Microeconomics, Applied Macroeconomics and Applied Econometrics.
Who is it for
This programme is intended for applicants who hold a Bachelor’s degree or professional title in Civil Engineering, Business Engineering, or in scientific disciplines with a strong quantitative component such as Mathematics, Physics, or Statistics. Applicants with a different academic background may also be considered for admission, subject to the decision of the Programme Committee.
Entry requirements

Curriculum Vitae, birth certificate, original degree certificate or professional qualification (or a notarised photocopy). The undergraduate programme must have a minimum duration of eight semesters. An original or notarised copy of the undergraduate academic transcript must also be submitted, indicating the semesters or years completed. In cases involving credit transfer, the original or notarised transcript of the validated courses must be provided.

For international applicants, the following must also be included:

A photocopy of the passport and/or a notarised copy of the national identity card, if available.

The academic transcript must include a certified equivalency to the 1 to 7 grading scale used in Chile, issued by the home university. If the university does not issue a certificate of equivalency, the applicant must submit a statement from the university confirming this. In cases of credit transfer, the original or notarised transcript of the validated courses must also be included.

Degree certificates and academic transcripts must be legalised through diplomatic channels or, where applicable, bear the Hague Apostille.

Programme-specific requirements:

The admission process is overseen by the Academic Committee, which evaluates applicants based on their full academic and professional background. The application requirements are as follows:
