Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree and/or professional qualification in Electrical Engineering, with a minimum duration of eight semesters.

Applications may be submitted throughout the academic year. The admission process will take place within the deadlines established by the Vice-Rector’s Office for Postgraduate Studies.

The selection criteria for applicants are as follows:
Academic performance during undergraduate studies, excluding the grade of the final exam, thesis, or equivalent.
Teaching experience, including semesters as a teaching assistant, instructor, adjunct professor, or equivalent teaching roles.
Attend scientific meetings, both national and international.
Participation in professional development courses.
Completion of professional internships.
Participation in professional projects.
Content of the recommendation letters submitted.
Performance in a personal interview, assessing commitment to the programme’s workload, clarity of study objectives, knowledge of the programme’s courses and faculty, connection between prior studies and intended programme, and personal motivation.
Participation in research projects and the production of indexed publications or conference presentations.

The admission process consists of three stages: application, pre-selection, and enrolment.

For the application process, each applicant must follow the centralised admission procedure defined by the Postgraduate Directorate, submitting the following documents:
Updated curriculum vitae
Certificates of academic degrees and professional qualifications obtained
Undergraduate transcript including ranking, repetitions, and periods during which courses were taken, with the grading scale and minimum passing grade indicated
Birth certificate
Institutional sponsorship letter, if applicable

Additionally, applicants must provide two letters of recommendation from professors or professionals who can attest to their suitability and qualifications for the programme. Letters of recommendation should be submitted in sealed envelopes to the Programme Secretariat or via another method established by the Master’s Programme Committee (CPM). The Secretariat will provide a form to be completed by the referees.

The pre-selection process involves the CPM analysing applications, assigning scores to each selection criterion within a quantitative evaluation system, and producing a written report with additional information supporting their decision. The CPM will determine the weightings for each criterion and the minimum score required for admission. The CPM will submit the list of shortlisted candidates with their details, as well as information on non-shortlisted applicants, to the Faculty Dean. The Dean will make the final selection decision and notify each applicant in writing of their acceptance or rejection.

Selected students must enrol to obtain formal status as programme participants. For enrolment purposes, applicants must present the required documentation either in original or notarised copies. Foreign applicants must ensure that their certificates and transcripts are legalised by the Chilean consulate in their country of origin.
