Programme details
The Master's Programme in Engineering Sciences, with a specialisation in Structural Engineering, is an academic, full-time programme. Its general objective is to train graduates in the field of Structural Engineering Sciences, focusing on disciplines aligned with the programme's research areas.

The research topics developed within the programme cover a range of applications in structural engineering, including the study of timber, concrete and steel structures—ranging from the material level, through intermediate levels related to individual structural elements, to the global scale of complete structures.

Its research areas include Computational Mechanics of Solids and Structures; and Experimental Study of Materials and Structures.
Who is it for
Intended for engineers or graduates in the field of Structural Engineering or related areas who demonstrate an interest in applying cutting-edge knowledge to the study of problems in Structural Engineering, within one of the programme’s lines of research.
Entry requirements

Each applicant to the programme must submit the following documents:

– Curriculum Vitae
– Birth certificate
– National Identity Card
– Original or notarised copy of undergraduate degree certificate (minimum programme length: 8 semesters)
– Original or notarised copy of undergraduate academic transcript indicating the semesters or years completed (in the case of transferred credits, include the original or notarised copy of the transcript for the validated courses)
– Institutional sponsorship and/or scholarship, if applicable
– Proof of teaching activities, professional experience, conference presentations and/or research involvement, where relevant
– Two academic letters of recommendation
– A certificate of English language proficiency, which will be reviewed by the Programme Committee. If the applicant does not have such a certificate, they may take a diagnostic test at the Department of Linguistics and Literature at Universidad de Santiago de Chile

For international applicants, the following additional documents are required:

– Copy of passport and/or notarised copy of Chilean national identity card, if available
– Academic transcript must include a certified conversion to the Chilean grading scale (1 to 7) issued by the applicant’s home university. If the university does not issue such a certificate, the applicant must provide an official document from the institution stating so (in the case of transferred credits, also include the original or notarised transcript for the validated courses)
– Degree certificates and transcripts must be legalised via diplomatic channels or, where applicable, apostilled under the terms of the Hague Convention

¿Qué datos debo proporcionar en mi postulación?

Es importante proporcionar todos los datos y copias escaneadas de la documentación requerida obligatoriamente en el fomulario de postulación online, además de la información específica que requiere cada Programa (ej: certificado de ranking, cartas de recomendación, carta de motivación, etc.)

¿Qué documentos son importantes?

Cada programa tiene requisitos de ingreso. Para hacer la postulación es necesario revisar los requisitos de ingreso del programa y aportar los documentos que son requeridos de forma obligatoria para la postulación.

¿En qué momento debo presentar los documentos originales?

Los documentos originales, o copias debidamente legalizadas deben enviarse una vez aceptada la postulación, para iniciar el trámite de formalización de ingreso de alumno regular.

¿Dónde estamos ubicados?

Nos encontramos en el límite de la Comuna de Santiago y la comuna de Estación Central, a pasos del metro Estación Central y de la estación de ferrocarril y buses interubanos.
