Programme details
The Doctorate is designed to promote the development of technological research in the fields of Science, Engineering, and Processes related to both the manufacturing and design of metallic and non-metallic materials, as well as the improvement of their properties.


Its research areas include materials characterisation, modelling, and phase transformations; biomaterials, polymers, and their applications; advanced materials (macro and nano) and their applications; and extractive metallurgy and sustainable metallurgical processes.
Who is it for
Open to applicants who hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent training to a Bachelor’s in Engineering Sciences or in fields related to Metallurgical Engineering.
Entry requirements

Curriculum Vitae, birth certificate, original Bachelor's degree certificate (minimum duration: 8 semesters) or Master’s degree certificate, or notarised photocopy, official transcript of Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, original or notarised photocopy indicating the semesters or years completed (in the case of credit transfers, submit the original or notarised transcript of the transferred subjects).

In the case of international students, the following must also be submitted:

Photocopy of the passport and/or notarised photocopy of the national identity card, if available.

The official transcript must include the equivalence to the 1-to-7 scale certified by the home university. If the university does not issue an equivalency certificate, the applicant must submit a certificate issued by the university confirming this (in the case of credit transfers, submit the original or notarised transcript of the transferred subjects).

The degree certificate(s) and transcript(s) must be legalised via diplomatic channels or, as appropriate, through The Hague Apostille Convention.

¿Qué datos debo proporcionar en mi postulación?

Es importante proporcionar todos los datos y copias escaneadas de la documentación requerida obligatoriamente en el fomulario de postulación online, además de la información específica que requiere cada Programa (ej: certificado de ranking, cartas de recomendación, carta de motivación, etc.)

¿Qué documentos son importantes?

Cada programa tiene requisitos de ingreso. Para hacer la postulación es necesario revisar los requisitos de ingreso del programa y aportar los documentos que son requeridos de forma obligatoria para la postulación.

¿En qué momento debo presentar los documentos originales?

Los documentos originales, o copias debidamente legalizadas deben enviarse una vez aceptada la postulación, para iniciar el trámite de formalización de ingreso de alumno regular.

¿Dónde estamos ubicados?

Nos encontramos en el límite de la Comuna de Santiago y la comuna de Estación Central, a pasos del metro Estación Central y de la estación de ferrocarril y buses interubanos. Por lo que si vienes de otras ciudades a desarrollar tu programa, será fácil movilizarte.
