Programme details
A technologically oriented doctorate that combines cutting-edge research in engineering with the practical application of innovative technologies to address challenges faced by industry and society.

The programme aims to foster collaboration between academia and both the public and private sectors through the development of new products, processes, and services that tackle industrial challenges to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and competitiveness.

It focuses on applied research connected to industry, technology transfer, patenting, and licensing.

Lectures are delivered in the late afternoon, through a virtual format complemented by practical, face-to-face activities held at the University and/or associated institutions.

Its research areas include Applied Information and Energy Systems; Manufacturing and Industrial Processes; and Innovation in Sustainability and Infrastructure.
Who is it for
Applicants should hold a degree in a field related to Engineering and possess a minimum of two years’ professional experience in the programme’s relevant areas.
Entry requirements

General Admission Requirements:

– Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a discipline related to Engineering.
– A minimum of two years’ professional experience in the relevant discipline or areas covered by the programme.
– English language proficiency at B1 level.

To apply, candidates must submit the following documentation through the platform established by the Vice-Rector’s Office for Postgraduate Studies:
a) Certificate of Professional Title and/or Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree.
b) Official transcript of undergraduate and Master’s programme grades, if applicable as per point a), including ranking, course repeats, and the periods in which courses were taken, as well as the grading scale and minimum passing grade. For international applicants, this must be accompanied by a certificate of equivalency to the Chilean grading system (scale 1 to 7, with 4 as the passing grade), or alternatively, an explanation of the original grading scale indicating at least the minimum, passing, and maximum grades. This allows the University of Santiago de Chile to calculate equivalency.
c) Curriculum Vitae.
d) National identity card. For international applicants, a passport and/or national identity document may be provided.
e) Birth certificate.
f) Institutional sponsorship letter from an external entity that will support the supervision and development of the student’s scientific-technological project.
g) Proof of English proficiency, if available.
h) Two letters of recommendation from academics and/or professionals. These letters should endorse the candidate’s suitability and qualities for undertaking studies within the programme.
i) Description of professional and/or technological application projects undertaken, detailing the topic, area of development, period, objectives, and type of funding.
j) Profile of the project to be developed, submitted using the format provided by the Programme.
k) Personal letter outlining expectations and motivations for applying.

The Programme may request additional documentation if necessary.

¿Qué datos debo proporcionar en mi postulación?

Es importante proporcionar todos los datos y copias escaneadas de la documentación requerida obligatoriamente en el fomulario de postulación online, además de la información específica que requiere cada Programa (ej: certificado de ranking, cartas de recomendación, carta de motivación, etc.)

¿Qué documentos son importantes?

Cada programa tiene requisitos de ingreso. Para hacer la postulación es necesario revisar los requisitos de ingreso del programa y aportar los documentos que son requeridos de forma obligatoria para la postulación.

¿En qué momento debo presentar los documentos originales?

Los documentos originales, o copias debidamente legalizadas deben enviarse una vez aceptada la postulación, para iniciar el trámite de formalización de ingreso de alumno regular.

¿Dónde estamos ubicados?

Nos encontramos en el límite de la Comuna de Santiago y la comuna de Estación Central, a pasos del metro Estación Central y de la estación de ferrocarril y buses interubanos.
